Environmental Health and Safety
AFC is committed to safety and regulatory compliance in every facet
of production, and environmental health and safety (EH&S) assessments
are an integral part of all of our projects. To that end, we employ a team
of highly qualified EH&S professionals who ensure that all operations
are conducted in accordance with federal and state safety and
environmental regulations.
Government and Industry Compliance
  • Occupational Safety & Health Administration’s (OSHA) Process Safety Management Standard
  • Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Risk Management
    Prevention Standards
  • Plant Awareness and Emergency Response Team
  • Local Emergency Planning Committee

AFC conducts its operations with minimal impact on the environment.
An integral part of our process design philosophy is maximizing the
reuse and recycling of materials. In 2007, the California Department of
Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) and the Chemical Industry Council of
California (CICC) recognized AFC for "Leadership and Commitment to
Pollution Prevention."

AFC operates a state-of-the-art biological wastewater treatment system that enables us to significantly reduce off-site disposal costs for aqueous streams that cannot be reused or recycled. We are committed to providing our employees with a safe and healthy work environment, and we require active employee participation in all safety programs.
